A pastor's friend went to North Korea, to try to contact some Christians there, but they did seem hard to find. After all, Christianity wasn't really a legal religion there. Two sisters had been giving out bibles to North Koreans, and they were caught by the police, sentenced to execution. Since they were going to die, they thought that they might as well, give all their praise and worship to the Lord before they did, after all what difference did it make? Some police were quite fed up with them, and couldn't wait for the execution to shut them up, so they broke their lower jaws. And such is the way Christians in North Korea lead their lives. On with the story, as the group of Christians walked along a street, a man spotted them and the crucifixes some of them were bearing, and quickly but discreetly brought one of them to a toilet, and told him to wait there for him. The North Korean came back and told him, "I haven't had the holy communion with anyone else for the last 30 years, because there's no family, no fellowship, no church here. All I have now is some beer and biscuits, let's have communion together." This is the way Christians there lead their lives, in secret, not able to proclaim openly who they believe in, and who they know loves them. Another time, the same thing happened, and one of them was brought to the toilet to wait. The North Korean Christian brought back a stack of North Korean Currency and told him,"This are my tithes for the last 17 years, please take them and use it for the kingdom of God." Listening to these stories make me so proud of the Christians there, that they do not allow anyone to stop them from loving the Lord. Even though they have to gather and have fellowship in fear and danger.
There was a Christian school for children and young adults in Indonesia, and the "school term" had ended, so the they were to return home. But as they were about to do so, some Muslim fanatics came and the teachers told the children to stay in the rooms, not to make any noise or do anything, but pray. Unfortunately, they were found out and the muslims told the children to stand in groups according to their ages. They singled out a boy named Roy and asked him,"Who are you?" He answered,"I am a soldier of God". This angered the muslims greatly and they severed his arm. Again they repeated the question, and the same answer sliced Roy's bible into two. With the third time, his other arm was gone, and his younger brother was watching all this. Fed up, they asked" Who are you?", and the reply, "I am a soldier of God". Roy was beheaded.
I do believe that now Roy is in Heaven with God, he is a soldier for God.
