The greatest love that anyone could ever know
That overcame the cross and grave to find my soul
And till I see You face to face and grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You

This week my school is hosting a group of students from China for a cultural exchange programme.. They did look more Chinese than us, definitely. They also spoke more Chinesely than us. But somehow, I couldn't help noticing many students trying to make fun of them.. Some of them tried to imitate the way that they spoke or tried to joke about them in Chinese while they smile and pretend they know what the joke is about as everyone else is laughing.
Those laughing were Chinese. If we are from the same race, why can't we respect them. Perhaps the reason why we speak and look different from them is because of some non-Chinese marriage in our family line or something. Though all that, previous generations in our family were from China, probably were just like them too. Then aren't they all making fun of themselves?
I really hope Singaporeans like these would mature quickly to realise that we should respect all races, however different they are from us, including people who may not be related to us at all. Isn't this what Singapore is all about?
