We have been training for 4 months and yet the parade seemed to finish so fast, the hour I stood there representing my contingent passed quickly. I realise that those reharsals that I miss so much was not just about puting up a good show on the 9th of August.. In fact, the tiring reharsals wasn't as tiring as it was fun. I had even made friends from other companies, other uniformed groups, especially St. John's Ambulance Association, as they were the contingent next to us.(trying not to give away which contingent I was in...) Today is one day after National Day and I find myself missing it already. It definitely has been a memorable event so thanks everyone who participated in the NDP...including al the performance groups, the choir for the great show, the last time in the National Stadium. I feel too that it shouldn't be demolished though I have only been there thrice, counting all the reharsals as one. . . the most fun times were when we were training the army camps and ..waiting in the indoor stadium,, we got to watch the reharsals by the performers and the choir, which was great. If I were given a chance to take part in it again, I would, whatever I mat be doing, whether in the guard of honour or performing, I wouldn't mind being a cleaner cleaning up too, after the parade.
